Another special birthday!

Friday the 20th marked another special birthday in the Bemis household! It was Jaxon Bear's 4th birthday! The weather was kinda junky so we didn't get to make it to Galaxy Drive In like we had hoped, but we found a couple other fun ways to celebrate!

We started the day with extra ear scratches and belly rubs, then when my mom and I got home we went on an extra long birthday walk! Then my dad and moved our cedar chest (which I love because it used to be my Grandma Schwarz's) from our bedroom to infront of our window in the living room, so this is a huge birthday treat for Jaxon Bear because he LOVES to look out the window and we haven't had a piece of furniture in front of the window for a long time. It's too funny, last year our niece, Ellie, gave us a sign that says "Beware: Puggle on Duty"! We totally had to laugh because Jaxon is the total opposite of a guard dog, but we still totally put it in the window and so now he sits right next to the sign! It's too perfect; I love it!
Then when Mike got home from work we took the pups to the dog park while Ezekiel stayed back and hung out with Grandpa and Grandma Bear. The pups had a ton of fun, as they always do! Jaxon played his favorite game "Chase me" with a cockapoo named Cash, while Brodie tried to protect Jaxon and be a brick wall (which he does well!) to prevent Cash from getting Jaxon! Such a good older cousin Brodie is!

On the way home from the dog park we stopped off at Chuck & Don's and got birthday bones, birthday treats (with frosting!), and a birthday toy (which was from Grandpa & Grandma Bear)! Then when we got home the puppies got their bones and then Jaxon completly forgot about treat time, but Brodie was there to remind him (and us) and then the puppies got their special birthday treat and then went back to the bones!

We ended the evening with extra belly rubs and snuggles! And then the next day he got his toy from Grandpa & Grandma Bear and played with it all day inbetween finishing up his birthday bone!

All in all pretty perfect day in the life of Jaxon Bear! But as I have mentioned in previous blogs, its hard not to want to give him the world since he has done so much for us and our family! He will always be my special little boy and I cannot imagine our life without him! He is a huge part of our family and is why we are the way we are and have dreams to do what we want to do in our life time!

We love you Jaxon Bear!

The big 3-0!

Our MAIN man had a big birthday this last week! My wonderful husband and bestest friend in the whole world had his big 3-0 birthday on the 15th! We were out of town on his actual birthday, so in result we got to do a couple of pretty fun things!

But we started off the birthday celebrations with a party at our house on April 1st, the reasoning it was so early is because the guys all wanted to watch The Rock's return to wrestling! (all the ladies ended up watching too, and of course The Rock won!) We love to have people over, so it was such a great time!

On his birthday we stopped in Chicago on our way home and ate at Al's Beef; they were featured on Man vs. Food and we ate there a few years ago when we were in Chicago on a family vaca. Needless to say Mike is a huge fan of this place since he is a huge meatetarian! (it truly is quite delicious tho!)

Steph enjoying her Al's Beef
And Darek too!
Then we headed down the road a bit and made a stop at our favorite bakery in the WORLD! Magnolia Bakery! Remember this post and this post! Yeah, we are obsessed! So now that we have celebrated Steph's and Mike's birthday at Magnolia Bakery, we decided that we need to celebrate the rest of the family members birthdays there too! Seems like a great idea to me! :-)
Banana Pudding! YUM!
And, of course, cupcakes!
And just this past Sunday, Steph and I surprised Mike and Darek (who is also turning 30) with dinner at Fogo De Chao! Remember that whole meateterian thing I mentioned earlier...so needless to say they loved it!

But I have to share the story with how I pulled it off, because I had no idea how I was going to pull it off up until about 15 minutes before we left! So I was feeding Ezekiel a bit of a late lunch, during which he filled his diaper, so after he finished eating I took him back to his bedroom to change his diaper. At this time I also changed his clothes into a dressier outfit and then I changed into a dressier outfit as well and set out a dessier outfit for Mike as well. Then I came out to the dining room (where Mike was working on the computer) and said "You have 5 minutes to get dressed up and get ready to go out with us! Put on what is laying out on the bed for you!" He, of course, asked "Where are we going?" And I just said, "Go get ready!"
My boys all dressed! Love them!
Then the whole way there he was asking me where we were going and I told him I would answer yes to every question he asked me from that point on! (Because I knew if he asked the right place I wouldn't be able to lie!) So I got everywhere from the mexican place in Chanhassen to Dave and Busters! He figured it out once we headed down town! But it was so fun! And I am quite impressed with myself for pulling it off without a hitch!
Ezekiel says, "Leave mine on the GREEN side!"

Surprise attack kisses from Ezekiel!

So we have had quite the month of celebrating; only the best for the love of my life! I know I have said this a million times but it is true...Mike works so hard for our family! I know I tell him that nearly enough, so I really wanted to make his birthday special this year so he knows how special he is to us! Thank you baby for all that you do! Happy 30th birthday month! We love you!
