Just Practicing!

So I had blogged earlier this week that we had purchased our stroller online and it so wonderfully graced our doorstep yesterday! We were so excited to get it so tonight we put it together and just had to tested it out!

Mike unloading the stroller from the box

Mike showing the puppies how to put it together, or maybe the puppies were showing Mike how to put it together!

Time to try it out and it works great!

He liked it so much he didn't want to get out! Our little guy may have to fight his brother for the stroller!

A few weeks ago we got a glider for the baby's room! We found it on craigslist, its in great condition, and we were able to get it for a great price. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on a glider or rocker as we have heard not all babies like to be rocked. So I was so delighted to find this glider and was even happier that it was SOOO comfy! I figure if the baby does like to be rocked, then I will be spending a lot of time in it! So, comfy is quite essential!
I couldn't leave Mike to do all the practicing!
I think that's all for today's post! It's time for this mama to hit the hay!

Oh, Jaxon Bear wanted to say hi to everyone quick!
"Hi everyone!"

Isn't technology great?

So I am attempting to write this blog from my phone while on the treadmill at the gym. I found an app on my phone for blogger so hopefully it works!

I love to exercise and workout but I hate walking or running on the treadmill! I can't help but look at the time all too frequently and get frustrated that only 10 min has passed (which I JUST did)! Lol! So hopefully writing this post and a few phone calls & texts will help pass the time!

I had this months midwife appt today and as expected everything is moving along right as it should. Our little guy's heart beat was about 150, which she said was perfect. She said I am perfectly healthy as well, am measuring perfect, and my weight & blood pressure are perfect! It was a quick and perfect appt, in and out! Tho she did say that at my next appt I will b doing my glucose test to check for gestational diabetes. So I got sent home with the wonderful juice, in berry flavor, and just need to remember to drink it an hour before my next appt. Fun fun! I am not too concerned about it, but just say an extra prayer for me that I pass! ;-)

Well, I think that's all for today! And now back to my workout (only another 6 min passed! Doh!)

Training for a Marathon!

No not me...our little guy!

Usually he is pretty active from about 9am-11am and then 5pm-6pm, but that is definitely not the case today! He has pretty much been constantly moving from about 5:15 this morning on! And he pretty much kept me up all morning which was quite ironic since I didn't have to be to work until this afternoon because of the snow! He must just be getting me ready for when he comes for real, but I don't think I am quite ready for the practice!  I think Jaxon might of gotten a few kicks to the head this morning too as after a bit he got up and moved down by my legs! So many new things to get used to for both Jaxon and us!

So I think our little guy must of been up early training for a marathon or something of the sort! Maybe he got confused when he overheard that we bought our stoller online yesterday (which is a BOB Jogging Stroller) and thinks that he needed to start practicing to keep up with us! Maybe I need to inform him that he gets to ride in it and doesn't need to come out running! We are really excited for the stroller to come as we have heard great things about it and we hope that it will be the perfect fit for our active lifestyle.

BOB Jogging Stroller
While he was moving around like a spunky little guy today, I could even feel him flipping around. Which I have never been able to really tell before, but today I quite certain that's what was going on. With him previously having certain "rest" times and "active" times, it was hard for Mike to get to feel him kick. But last night finally it happened and Mike had his hand on my stomach and he kicked! I was so happy, because I had been trying to get him to move and kick for Mike for a while. It was only one kick, but at least he finally got to feel him!

So I guess we will see if his training continues tomorrow or if he will take some time off before he gets too serious about it!  Hopefully the second for my sake! :-)

Caution: Bump Ahead

The bump has finally made it's appearance and isn't going anywhere anytime soon! I apologize for the lame picture, but I decided that I just had to get the job done, so I did it myself with my cell phone! It is a rare time that Mike & I are home at the same time when we haven't just been at the gym or when I am sleeping! :-p So since I got to work early today (which never happens!) I quick snapped a pic of my belly. (Hence the sleepy eyes, it was 7 am!)
22 1/2 Weeks

It is definitely starting to get in the way more now, I tend to forget its there knee myself in the stomach when I am putting on my socks and shoes. I'm sure our lil guy (who is about a pound now) appreciates that! Good thing he is nicely padded in there!  I am also starting to get asked by people if I am pregnant, mostly the patients at my work that the word hasn't traveled to yet. I think it would be funny to make them panic a little bit and say no, but I'm not that mean and don't think I could stay it with a straight face!

Also, on Monday I got my first experience with a random person rubbing my belly (well it wasn't a random person, it was one of my co-workers, but we aren't that close). I was truly surprised by how bothered I was by it! LOL! I have had my close friends and family touch my belly and I honestly and truly didn't mind that at all and I love that they want to love on our baby! It may of just been too that I was having an off day as it was a really busy day at work! But I hear its something to get used to because complete strangers will do it to you (which I find so odd!). Then again it may just be odd to me because I am not a big touchy feely type of person, other than with my family and friends. The interesting times of being pregnant! :-)

What's in a name?

Apparently too much for us to be able to make a decision!

And of course this is one of the first questions that every pregnant couple gets asked after "when are you due?" and "do you know if you are having a boy or a girl?". The funny thing is that before we even got married we had a complete list of names that we would name our children, first and middle along with the meanings of both names! (The typed out list, may have been my doing!) Our girl names have not changed, but since we found out we were pregnant we can't seem to fully agree on a boy name now! One thing that we do agree on though is that we want a unique name, not crazy though! For the both of us growing up with names that every year were on the 10 most popular names list, we want our kids' names to be not as common. So we continue to walk a fine line between unique and weird. But really, we aren't considering anything that is really that out there. Mike's dad already said, don't pick a weirdo name! :-p But we have officially been through every page of the boy section in our baby name book and still only have a small list. So I guess we will be making a second trip through it!

If it were up to Mike though we would have the next Gladiator or Rambo on our hands! And I understand that he wants a nice strong name for our lil guy, but I'm against naming him after a movie character! But we do agree that whatever name we decide on has to have a good ring to it for a quarterback and to sound good coming out of the mouths of announcers on Monday Night Football! :-p

Some of the names we are considering are (spelling is still up for debate):
Elijah
Ezekial
Graham
Wesley

But truly those are subject to change at anytime, as they are consistently changing all the time! And I know a lot of people say not to share names because people will give you their opinions on them, good or bad. But we have always said that if we like a name enough there isn't going to be anything that is going change our minds on it. And we know no matter what, not everyone is going to like the name that we choose and that is fine with us. But obviously that isn't the problem for us right now anyways!

At this point I am honestly content going into the hospital with a list of names and waiting to meet him to make our final decision. Again, that may change too if we find the name that we know is supposed to be his! I find it to be a lot of pressure to pick the name that he will have for the rest of his life, that will be the first impression for everyone he meets, and will help define who he is! :-p But I keep saying, we will eventually decide on something, right?!

And hopefully updated belly pics here soon! It is def starting to pop out! I may just have to take one in the mirror myself because I always forget when we are both home.

Jaxon Bear Bemis

How rude of me to start this blog off about our family without highlighting the first amazing addition to our family!

JAXON BEAR BEMIS

We have friends (Annette & Andy) who are expecting a month after us and they also started a blog and their first post was all about their first lil guy Moby (who is one of Jaxon's best friends!) and so I am stealing their idea and dedicating this entire post to our lil Jaxon Bear!

Jaxon & Moby

Jaxon will be 3 in April and will be apart of our family for 3 years in June. We have had him since he was a puppy and we rescued him from the cornfields of Iowa! :-P We got him from the same breeder that my brother (Darek) & sister-in-law (Steph) got their puppy, Hunny. So when we went down to pick Jaxon up Darek & Hunny came with us and we found out that Hunny's mom and Jaxon's mom are actually from the same litter and so they are actually cousins!

Jaxon & Hunny meeting for the first time
We were so happy to get to bring him home and welcome him into our family!

Our first family photo!
For the past 2 1/2 years he has been such a joy and has brought so much laughter to our lives! A few frustrations from time to time as well, as most people experience with a new puppy! But we know that he has taught us a lot of responsibility and how to work together through those frustrating times. I honestly don't know what the past 2 1/2 years would of been like for us without him. We have been through so much, really great stuff and unfortunately a quite a bit of not so fun stuff too. Tho it was fun to do a lot of fun stuff with him, he def pulled his weight in our family on those hard days. It's amazing how he just would know and cuddle up with us and put those warm fuzzies back in our heart or do something so silly that would make us laugh so hard!
Jaxon tuckered out last night after hosting our super bowl party!
We get teased a lot that we spoil Jaxon and that maybe the case and probably is! But when he has made such a difference in our lives its hard not to give him the best of everything and continue to want to spend time with him and make more fun memories! And he is blessed not spoiled! ;-)

Here are just a few of the fun things we have done over the years:

Jaxon's 1st birthday party-celebrated with about 12 skin guests & 6 furry guests!

Hiking at St. Croix Falls

Hiking at Gooseberry Falls

Weekend at Mike's Family's cabin

Woof-N-Treat Parties

Trips to the apple orchard
Playing baseball with my family
So there you have a brief look into the joys of Jaxon Bear Bemis! We are excited to continue to do all of these fun things and so much more with him and his new little brother!
